Absorption vs Aggression in Crypto Order Flow

Absorption order flow analysis separates aggressive execution from accepted price movement. BH Terminal uses it as context.

Aggression and absorption are two different forces inside order flow. Aggression describes traders crossing the spread with market orders. Absorption describes resting liquidity taking the other side without allowing price to progress as much as the aggression suggests.

Why aggression can mislead

A chart may show heavy buying, rising delta or fast prints, yet price may fail to move higher. That does not mean the buying was fake. It may mean a larger participant or a thicker liquidity zone absorbed it.

The same logic applies to selling. Heavy aggressive selling into a low can create fear, but if price stops falling and begins accepting back above the area, the market may be showing absorption rather than continuation.

The context that matters

Absorption is most useful when connected to location. Absorption in the middle of a random range is weak information. Absorption at a prior high, value boundary, liquidation zone or failed breakout carries more meaning because it appears where decisions concentrate.

This is why order flow should be read with structure, not in isolation. Aggression shows urgency. Absorption shows response. The trade decision still requires risk, invalidation and execution quality.

BH Terminal treats absorption versus aggression as a market microstructure context layer, not as a signal. It helps separate activity from accepted direction.

How to use Absorption vs Aggression in Crypto Order Flow

This material connects with absorption order flow, aggressive buying selling, delta absorption crypto, order flow imbalance. In the BlackHole framework, the goal is to read context first, wait for confirmation second, and only then judge whether execution quality is strong enough.

Context

Start with market regime, liquidity location and the surrounding structure.

Confirmation

Separate early interest from evidence that actually supports the scenario.

Execution

Translate the idea into risk, timing and a clear decision process.
